The beginnings of art?

Homo Erectus engraving might show art began 400,000 years earlier than we knew

Personally, I suspect that if this turns out to be correct, it doesn't represent a stage in the continuous progression of artistic expression among humans and their relatives, but the achievements of a single individual or group. Still, the possibilities are pretty neat.
